VODAFONE HEALTHLINE WINS MORE AWARDS

Vodafone’s TV Health show HealthLine has picked up two more awards in as many weeks to increase the award tally to an unprecedented four awards.

HealthLine was awarded the ‘Overall Best TV Programme of the Year 2012’at the recent Radio and Television Personality Awards. It beat off strong competition from TV3’s Edziban, Guinness Football Challenge, Touching Lives, MTN Soccer Academy, The One Show and Standpoint.

Security Watch Africa also awarded Vodafone Ghana for ‘Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility’ for the Organisation’s commitment and innovativeness in making a lasting social impact in our communities through HealthLine and Vodafone Ghana Foundation.

These two awards join the international acknowledgement under the Corporate Social Responsibility category at the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) awards; and television programme of the year in this year’s CIMG awards already in the HealthLine trophy cabinet.

Carmen Bruce-Annan, Head of Corporate Communications for Vodafone Ghana expressed their delight at the recognition of their flagship CSR programme. “The continued acknowledgement which HealthLine receives is testament to the work we are doing to empower our customers to take their health into their own hands.

By delivering health information, demonstrations and professional tips and advice, as well as offering life changing support to some individuals who would otherwise not have been able to afford crucial medical procedures.

We are ensuring that our customers are at the heart of our business. This programme was conceptualised and developed by our team at Vodafone so we are very excited and proud to have received so many accolades.”

The second season of HealthLine comes to an end this week – 4 November 2012, with an episode on the nervous system and two stories on how Vodafone rescued two children, one of whom is an orphan, who had been ostracised by members of their community because of their congenital conditions.

Vodafone HealthLine airs on Sundays on TV3 at 5.00pm, eTV and Top TV at 8.00pm and GTV at 8.30pm, it is then repeated on Wednesdays’ on Metro TV and Crystal TV at 8.30pm.
