Pentecost Hospital, Madina formerly Alpha Medical Center was established by the Church of Pentecost to provide health care to the people in the immediate Madina catchment area and beyond. The hospital was approved by the Government of Ghana and registered with the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) in1999. It was also approved as a Budget Management Center (BMC) by the Ministry of Finance in 2006. Pentecost Hospital has been duly accredited by the National Health Insurance Scheme Board. It is the designated Ga East Municipal Hospital receiving referrals from the clinics and health centers in the Municipality and beyond.
The Mission of the Hospital is to provide affordable and quality health care to all persons, especially the poor and the marginalized. The hospital is located at Madina Estate and serves predominantly the urban poor communities detached from the main city of Accra. Pentecost Hospital, Madina has twelve full time Medical Officers including a Dermatologist (Skin Specialist), surgical specialist, Obstetric & Gynecologist and a part time Eye Specialist who operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week. Other facilities available include Ultra-sound Scan and Maternal and Child Welfare Clinics, TB Treatment and the Hospital plans to institute special Diabetes, Hypertension and Dental Clinics soon.
Pentecost Hospital, Madina has been a proven and reliable partner for its clients offering services in several health care areas. The Centre’s OPD Attendance increased from 17,794 in 2005 to 89,336 in 2011 necessitating the expansion of facilities. Currently, it has more than 45 bed capacity and is expected to increase to100 beds.
We have in place a youth friendly center where the youth within our catchment area patronise to have access to various facilities such as counseling on STIs, HIV/AIDS, Personal Hygiene etc.
